Keep your own saga. The Skald Journal brings the Viking Line’s riveted character to the page: substantial leather, visible stitching and rows of warm metal rivets. It is a place for the plans, observations and stories that deserve more than a loose sheet of paper.

Stitched, riveted, made by hand

We hand-cut these journals from North American leather and make them here in our family home shop in Bellevue, Washington. The stitching and rivets are part of the construction as well as the character: practical details left in view. Each colorway has its own grain and surface variation, shown in the real photographs of that journal.

A considered interior

Open the cover to find two inner card pockets, plus large interior pockets that hold the paper notebook’s cover in place. Keep a couple of useful cards close to your notes without turning the journal into a bulky organizer. A paper notebook is included, so it is ready for your first page.

Three colors, one Skald

Choose Obsidian for near-black leather, Moss for an olive-brown tone, or Pine for deep green with blue undertones. Each numbered colorway has its own closed and open photographs; the group image shows the three journals together. Choose the colorway to see the exact cover and interior you will receive.

Made to hold your words

A skald was a Norse poet and storyteller. We chose the name for a journal that gives your own words a home, whether you are keeping a travel record, gathering ideas or getting the next day onto paper.
