A place becomes a piece of leatherwork.

We start with full hides of North American leather and cut the body, pockets, and mountain shapes here in our home shop. The landscape is built from layers of leather, with the color and grain becoming part of the design.

The new photographs follow the Snoqualmie Pass tote at our workbench: measuring a panel, shaping the work, and setting the handle hardware by hand. The trees, ski lift and lodge details give this design its own story.
